It’s in the Water!

Everyone who has ever dealt with miscarriages and infertility knows that when someone you know gets pregnant, it feels like a smack in the face or a punch in the gut.  You also know, if you have read my other blogs, that 2 girls at work are pregnant.  2 way too young to be having children girls.

Now we work retail (meaning not a big paycheck at all) and while it is a national company, we only have 12 employees in our store.  3 are men.  Yesterday, I found out that 2 more girls think they are pregnant as well.  Both are a little older than the 2 that are, they are in their mid 20’s.  However, (several others at work are saying this and I agree) these 2 should not be having kids.  One is literally very unstable emotionally in addition to financially.  Her boyfriend rarely holds a job and she goes from nice to very scary in .01 seconds.  Our boss has even told her that she is unstable.  Also, she hates kids and has sworn she never wants any.  Ever!  Her family history of emotionally unstable people is quite strong as well.  What I am saying is that everyone who knows this girl is really scared of her reproducing.  Whether she raises the baby or not.

The second one…ugh.  Ok, she and her boyfriend have only been back together a few months.  Her family hates him.  Her sister wouldn’t even allow him to come to her wedding in October.  I have seen him once and he is scary.  He recently lost his job. Before they got back together, she was living with another guy (we’re talking less than 3 months ago), and even after she got back together with the boyfriend, she and the other guy were still secretly talking, texting, and meeting each other.  The current boyfriend had an order of protection out against her until after they got back together.  He had to go to court a few weeks after she moved back in with him to have it removed.  This is just the tip of the iceberg with them.  They think they are having a baby.

These 2 instances scare me more than the 2 kids that are pregnant.  At least the kids are in more stable relationships (they have been with their boyfriends for 3 years each) with guys who actually keep their jobs and are not emotionally unstable or dating guys who are emotionally unstable.  The first girl that thinks she is pregnant (the one who is really scary) quite often is homeless and living in her truck.  Why?  Because she doesn’t make much money and her boyfriend can’t keep a job.  Not that I am saying anything against her because of that but that is no way to raise a baby.

Ok, so if you were doing the math, 12 employees, 3 are men, 2 are pregnant, 2 think they are.  That leaves 5 people not pregnant.  Now the joke at work is of course…”It’s in the water!”  My boss keeps saying that from now on whenever she hires someone new she will not be doing a drug test but she will be doing pregnancy tests and may even start doing them randomly for those of us already at work.  Everyone thinks this is pretty funny, but, with miscarriages and infertility in my life, I am just not laughing.

Ok, so I got this off my chest.  I guess I will stop here for now.  Until next time kiddos…….

Happy Thanksgiving

November 22, 2006 at 11:42 am | Posted in adoption, children, family, friends, People | 1 Comment

Just a note to wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving. I hope everyone gets to spend time with loved ones and have a wonderful meal. Eat way too much turkey, have that extra piece of pie that you don’t need (you know you want it), and give someone you care about an extra hug. (There is plenty of time for losing that extra turkey and pie in January! See my web site Oasis Life Science!) Maybe call someone you haven’t talked to in a while just to tell lthem you are thinking of them.

Have a blessed and safe Thanksgiving.

Until the next time we talk…..

Holiday Shopping

November 15, 2006 at 12:10 pm | Posted in adoption, animals, children, family, friends, People, shopping | Leave a comment

Ok, Ok. I know I said I wouldn’t do commercials very often but here goes another one. Please bear with me. The holidays are coming. Big surprise there, huh. I mean T-Day is a week from tomorrow, if we can believe that. This year flew by. I know we say that every year, but it just seems to go faster and faster. Anyway……

With the holidays upon us, we are all fighting with ourselves trying to find the perfect gifts for everyone on our lists. Well, let me tell you….you know from previous posts (if you have read them) of mine that I have 2 websites aside from here and that all the money I earn from those sites are going completely into our adoption fund to bring home a baby from China. Our daughter is 11 and an only child, only grandchild on one side, and only great-grandchild on one side (both grandparents and great-grandmother that she is the only one for live within 5 miles) and the only niece/nephew for my brother (who lives only 2 hours away). Now I know you are thinking she is spoiled. Probably. Most likely. But she is a wonderful child but very lonely. She wants siblings, and everyone mentioned above wants more kids in the family (including, of course, us). My brother is not likely to have any. I don’t think he wants any. But I am getting sidetracked here….nothing new….sorry…

Back to the original plan for this post.

Avon (which I have been selling for 13 years now) has some wonderful gifts for the whole family. Some really cute holiday decorations, too. And even some pamper yourself kind of things. You should really go to my site and do some or all of your christmas shopping there. It will be sent directly to you. We have things for everyone. Moms, Dads, kids, family, neighbors, friends, everyone. Several year (when we lived in Illinois especially) I would make up a gift basket for our letter carrier. I would put a travel mug, a couple bags of tea, some Avon hand cream, lip balm and bubble bath in it. They always seemed to enjoy that because they were getting cold air all day long, so their hands and lips got chapped a lot. So try having an Avon kind of Christmas this year, and reward yourself for your brilliant idea (you can even claim it as your own and I won’t mind) with a new perfume, piece of jewelry or your favorite lipstick. Go on…you know you want to make Christmas easier this year…. There is a link on the side of my blog page that will take you directly to my Avon site.

So, you have decided to battle the crowds and shop anyway. Well, my other site might do you some good. It is called Oasis Life Sciences. Now this stuff is amazing. It is called Ageless Living. This company spent billions of dollars figuring out how and why we age. They put their knowledge on this subject into use and discovered how to slow down or even stop this process. (Taking this next part directly from my Oasis book…)  Importantly, the Oasis research team would not be content with a kitchen sink formula, but rather worked to create an advanced superfood that incorporated the latest research on a number of fronts:  1) It had to incorporate the latest scientific advances in nutrient bioavailability; 2) It had to overcome nutritional gaps in the typical American diet for the critical cell-renewal  building blocks of calcium, EFA’s, protein, antioxidants and fiber;  3) It had to be a great tasting liquid to appeal to children and the elderly alike; and 4) It had to be convenient to take in order to become a staple in the diet.  Let me tell you, they succeeded.

They have made several products. Something for every age. In fact, they say “Be better at every age”. From small children up to….any age.

The one that my husband and I use is called Ageless Xtra. It is for those of us 30 and up. (There is another for those 50 and up and still another for the younger set, plus lots of other great products.) It promotes vital energy, supports mental clarity and focus, helps manage stress, and promotes joint comfort and flexibility. (I just took that right off the bottle.) It tastes like cranberry juice. You only take 3 ounces twice a day. It gives a lot of people like a caffeine high but actually more “smooth” with focus and without the drop because there is no caffeine in it. (It is not recommended for pregnant mommies though.) It is really awesome. My husband says he gets a lot more accomplished at work. I don’t get the extra energy, but I do sleep better at night. That is just one of the products. There are many. There is stuff for losing weight, stuff for your pets to keep their age progression at bay. You name it. There are even recipes for several of the products. Some products taste like veggie juice. Some recipes make smoothies, some make dips for chips or veggies.

You really ought to check it out. Great for all those New Year’s Resolutions. This year you just might keep them with Oasis. Again the products will be shipped directly to you. Try ’em. You’ll like ’em. (There is also a direct link to my Oasis site listed in the side column.)

Many doctors swear by it. Several pro athletes as well. In fact, looking at one of my books there is an article about Alonzo Mitz and Derrick Fenner, both former pro footballers who use and love Oasis products. Derrick Fenner was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in 1989, then went on to the Cincinnati Bengals for 3 years, then the Oakland Raiders for 4. Derrick says he is 245 pounds, his playing weight, and he has the same muscle strenth he had before thanks to Oasis. He also says that he is sharing the products with his wife and son and that is the greatest statement of his faith in them. In Derrick’s words, “I wouldn’t put my family on these products unless I could believe in them. Bottom line? I’ve seen them work.” (All of the information directly about Derrick came straight from my Oasis book.) Need more? How about Erin Diegel a pro golfer, or Tara Lynn Carrillo a personal trainer turned fitness pro? Now you know you just have to check this stuff out even if you have never heard of these pro athletes.

The best part is you don’t have to leave the comfort of your own home. Unless or course you love to battle crowds, find parking and then have to walk 2 miles before you even get to the mall, battle more crowds, I have seen people on the news even get into fights over products on the shelves, etc., etc., etc. Let’s not even talk about the weather for those of you who don’t live where it is warm and beautiful like Phoenix. If you are determined to do all this, then I just can’t help you but for you people I will be praying throughout the season. For your safety as well as your sanity. God help you.

So, if none of the incentives about Avon or Oasis grab you, maybe my reasons (listed above) for having these two sites will. Please help us to earn the money to adopt our baby. We can support another child, but coming up with roughly $20 – $25 grand to accomplish this goal is a huge mountain. So, please find it in your hearts to check out our sites, buy some gifts or something for yourself and pass on these websites to everyone you know. You will be greatly blessed by helping others, you’ll look great!, and you will always be in our thoughts and prayers as the wonderful friends who made our family a little bigger, a lot happier, and gave an orphan baby a new life.

Ok, I think I am done with my commercial. Thank you for bearing with me and for all your help and prayers. Hopefully soon I will start having some exciting updates for you all. We wish every one a safe, and wonderful holiday season.

May God bless every one of you.

Until next time….

Hello!

November 11, 2006 at 4:54 am | Posted in adoption, children, family, shopping | 1 Comment

Hello everyone! So nice to meet you all. This is the first time I have ever done a blog, so forgive me. It won’t be terribly exciting yet but give me time.

My name is Lisa. I have been married to my wonderful husband, Mike, for 15+ years. That I think is very amazing these days! We have a beautiful 11 year old daughter named MacKenzie.

We have been trying for years to have another child. MacKenzie has been begging for a sibling since she could talk. Nothing except miscarriages and disappointments. We have decided to adopt. I have dreamed of adopting a child from China for more that 20 years. So that is our plan. However, money is the big deal. We can afford to support another child but to come up with the thousands upon thousands of dollars for the adoption is unrealistic. Adoption starts at roughly $20,000 for those of you who have never checked it out. China is actually much less expensive than several other countries. Russia is closer to $30,000. Anyway…here we are trying to come up with more money. It is hard!

Have you ever tried saving money? Just when you think you are making progress, the air conditioner dies. In August, in Phoenix. Not pretty! (It was 20 years old anyway.) Then you have to make not 1 but 2 emergency trips across the country by plane. Those last minute plan tickets aren’t cheap you know. (Especially when there are 3 of you.) Then the family vehicle needs a tune up. By this time, you are afraid to take it in for fear of what may be found. Or God only knows what else comes up. I am sure you all know what I mean.

To get on with things….we have a couple of websites to help earn money for our adoption. The first is an Avon website. I have been selling Avon for 13 years. My website is http://www.yourAVON.com/lisapearson. Check is out. You can order from the site and it will be sent directly to you.

The second is a phenomenal company that I have just recently joined. To get started telling you about this a little history first. When we first started looking into the possibility of adoption, we also were looking into financing. There isn’t much out there for adoption. There are grants, but you have to already be in the process before you can apply for them. You aren’t guaranteed to get the grant and you could hope for (and need) $5000 and get $300. Most of the process of adoption is time sensitive, therefore if you don’t get the money…..you have to start all over. Next, you could borrow money from your retirement. Will it ever get paid back? Probably not. Then you can never afford to retire. Cash out life insurance policies. Not on your life! You never know what is going to happen or when. Max out your credit cards. Not going to happen either. You get the idea. Tough world out there for this need. You could get a loan for the money but who needs another payment? So, I started researching other ideas. This is how I met Ken.

Ken has been doing direct marketing for years and has been very high up in the companies he has done. Knows lots of people that have also been high up in different companies doing exactly what he does. Very nice man. Anyway, he had a company (with a few of these high up friends) and had just come home with his internationally adopted daughter. He wanted to help others achieve their dream. He created websites for people, linked to his and everything that sold on your site, he gave you a nice commission. Well, after almost a year with Ken, products just weren’t selling as well as everyone had hoped. They were too common. So Ken, and his friends went looking for another company to join. That brings us to Oasis Life Sciences.

Sorry, I guess that was a little more than a little history.

So, Oasis Life Sciences….well, I guess you’ll just have to check it out. It is so well explained on the web site that I can’t do it any justice. I will say that is about Ageless Living.  Try my site for that at http://www.supportpearson.com. When you order from the site it will also be shipped directly to you.

With any luck, I’ll be able to start updating everyone on the progress of our adoption. Right now we are just trying to get the money together. Hopefully we will be able to jump that hurdle and soon.

I have set up links directly to my other two sites, of course, in my sidebar.  Let me know what you think.

Sorry for pretty much just giving you a big commercial. That was not my intention. It is just our family’s major dream at this point and something we happen to be quite passionate about right now. I don’t plan on making commercials and informercials very often here so please bear with me.

Most of my logs will hopefully be much more interesting and more about family, etc. Check back soon. I’ll post more at another time. I am just getting the hang of this right now.

Have a great one until next time……
